Brief Introduction of Drum Mixers：

The drum mixer is one of the important equipment in the sintering process system. Drum mixers, the crucial equipment used in sintering and pelletizing systems, have abroad applications in raw material blending, mixing, granulating and coal blending mixing operations, and can meet the requirements of the sintering machines for the material. It is mainly used for damping and blending the sintered materials that have been appropriately proportioned in advance, to make the moisture, and the ingredients of the materials are uniformly mixed and the particulate materials in the sintered materials are combined into suitable pellets. According to its structural characteristics, drum mixers can be classified as the primary drum mixers whose main function is to mix and damp the material and the secondary drum mixers to granulate the material to make the material conform to the requirement of uniform composition, moderate moisture, and good air permeability. There is also a sintering process that rolls fuel on the surface of the granular object, which is called tertiary mixers or coal rolling machines. To improve the mixing effect, the cylinder body is equipped with a lifting plate; To prevent sticking of the material, the cylinder body is also equipped with a whole or part of the liners. According to the different support and transmission modes of the cylinder of the mixer, the drum mixers are also classified as drum mixers with rubber-roller drives and drum mixers with gear drives.

The drum mixer is mainly composed of the cylinder, retaining roller, supporting roller, transmission unit, girth gear, feeding and discharging device and platform, etc.

Working Principle of Drum Mixers:

The drum mixer is driven by the main motor through the main reducer to drive the pinion to engage with the large girth gear to transmit power and drive the drum of the mixer to rotate. The material enters the cylinder from the feed end ( high end of the cylinder). Due to the inclination and slow rotation of the cylinder, the material is tumbling in the circumferential direction and move axially from the feed end to the discharge end. (From high end to low end), and then complete the mixing, granulation and other processes. Finally, the material enters the next step process through the discharge device.

Features of Drum Mixerx:

(1) It is equipped with a micro-drive, connected via a claw clutch, which is convenient for maintenance, operation and cleaning of sticky materials.

(2) It is lined with wear-resistant liners to prevent sticking of materials and reduce the wear of the cylinder.

(3) Spiral-shaped lifting plate enhances the guiding effect and improves the efficiency of material mixing operation.

(4) The transmission is designed with engagement at two points, so that the transmission unit can be miniaturized, the two points are driven separately, and the force applied is more balanced.

(5) Pin-tooth drive replaces the girth gear, which is more convenient for replacement and requires lower maintenance costs.

(6) The drum mixers are designed with rubber roller supports, shorter manufacturing cycle, better shock absorption effect, and more stable operation.
